<p>“This inaugural vintage of Reserve Cabernet Franc from Beverly Vineyard has an enticing rose petal and cherry aroma, leading to a slightly spicy, chocolate cherry flavor and a seductive, complex finish.” <em>~Ray Einberger, Winemakers</em> </p>
The fruit for this Reserve Cabernet Franc was picked by hand from Beverly Vineyard, nestled on a gently sloping hill overlooking the Columbia River at Sentinel Gap. <br /><br />Hot summer days, cool evenings, a low yielding vineyard site, and the Winchester sand soils provide the perfect terroir for Cabernet Franc. <br /><br />The 2005 Stone Tree Vineyard Reserve Zinfandel and the 2005 Beverly Vineyard Reserve are the first vineyard-designated wines from Columbia Crest and represent the very best of vintage and varietal from select vineyard sites across the Columbia Valley as picked each year by Winemaker Ray Einberger. Future vineyard-designated wines will vary vineyard sites and varietals to match the high standards of the program. <br /><br />
Hand-picked grapes were held separately for vinification.<br /><br />Grapes were gently fermented and aged in new and older oak barrels to maintain their special fruit quality.<br /><br />500 cases were produced.
